In my small town, we use solar traffic lights. You would not be able to tell. I did not even know until I read the town’s newsletter stating that they have replaced all normal traffic lights with solar traffic lights. According to the calculation stated in the newsletter, the town would save thousands of dollars in electricity bills, which means they could use the money to upgrade everything else in town. I know one of them should be the library, as it looks unkempt. The books are also old and torn making it difficult for the kids to read. The playground is also disheveled. My kids have given up on playing at the playground because the swing set is broken. I feel that it is not just because of the swing set, it is the amount of kids playing there too. The playground is too small. It is great that the town is saving money now that we have solar traffic lights, but I do hope they will make good use of the money.
